Parent Responsibilities

Rightfully, the responsibility for the child’s health belongs to the parent.  Important things you can do to assure the best health care for your child:

  • Send your child to school clean and properly clothed.
  • Keep your child at home when he/she has signs of illness.
  • Be responsible for care of all injuries and illnesses.
  • Supply names and telephone numbers of responsible individuals on an emergency card; inform the school of changes.
  • Assume responsibility for transportation of your child who becomes ill or injured at school.
  • Provide health history and immunization data as required.
  • Cooperate by securing care for correction of defects found during screenings and examinations; notify the school nurse of corrections.
